| Definitely Might Be may not be Oasis,
but they do have a lot in common when it comes to reproducing the rousing
anthems, stage presence and atmosphere created by the originals. The band
has been together for about 5 years now and each member has several years
experience of playing in different projects, going to make an exceptional
line up of people epitomising professionalism, reliability and confidence
at all times. With over two hours of material to draw from - including all the hits from all six albums, live favourites, B-sides and a few of Noel's acoustic numbers - when the lads start there's no stopping them. And who wants to stop when the band is recreating some of the best music you can hear today! In fact, the audience at Definitely Might Be gigs can get so wrapped up in the experience that you'd be forgiven for thinking that you were watching the real Oasis! As one very pleased punter said "I'm going to see the real Oasis later this year and if it's half as good as that, I'm in for a bloody good night!" Lead singer Ian bares an uncanny resemblance to Liam Gallagher and has worked as a look-alike in the UK appearing on the Channel 4, Sky TV, Richard and Judy and has been used in advertising campaigns, which have appeared in Q Magazine, Loaded and the National Press. He also starred in the video for the last single by heavy metal legends MOTORHEAD, released in July 05. Jeff takes the role of Noel Gallagher. He sings what Noel sings and plays what Noel plays with frightening authenticity, often stepping up for a solo acoustic spot when the mood takes him. Like Noel, he’s the quieter, more thoughtful one of the pair and, with Ian, he helps replicate the image and mood of the brothers Gallagher, though maybe not with quite the same amount of fighting! Kev takes on the mantle of Andy Bell in the band and, while he doesn’t look particularly like the Oasis bassist, his experience and technique are more than enough to ensure that the performance is every bit as good as it possibly can be. As a musician, Kev has a wealth of knowledge to draw on and displays his abilities at every gig. The band’s drummer is Carl. He could be Alan White, or Zac Starkey, or Tony McCarroll, but whichever Oasis drummer you care to name, Carl plays any of the songs with consummate ease and style. Carl’s the backbone of Definitely MightBe, the rock on which they build their humungous sound. He also endorses Sonor drums and demonstrates at their drum clinics, so you know he’s good! Phil is the band’s Gem Archer. Phil loves music and he loves Oasis and it shows. He’s always genuinely enthusiastic and the joker of the band and that’s why they love him. He’s got a lovely Les Paul too: Jeff would like to nick it, but he thinks that would probably be a bad thing. Previous clients/venues: With several hundred gigs under their belts across the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland, the band has a wide experience of playing to every type of audience. Their gigs have included regular appearances on the ‘Brannigans’ chain, ‘Yates Wine Lodge’, ‘Jumpin Jaks’, most of the ‘Chicago Rock Cafés’ and several major universities. They have played pubs, clubs, private parties and most well known tribute clubs and the band has also experienced sharing the same stage with some of the biggest selling artists, both past and present, including: East 17; Liberty X; Bad Manners; ABC; and 80s teen sensation Tiffany! Big gigs of note have included The West Belfast Festival, 3 years running, with 3,000 people watching and The Mathew Street Festival in Liverpool for 4 years running, where last year, 25,000 attended. Line up/Options: Bass, drums, rhythm guitar, lead guitar and lead vocals A typical performance is for 2 x 45 minute sets and the band is completely self-contained with their own PA and lighting. |
