Fronted by Julie, the jazz quintet have enjoyed excellent reviews of their latest CD 'Eden' inviting Michael Parkinson's comment "She's a good singer isn't she?" in his usual understated manner after hearing her on BBC Radio 2. Performing from a repertoire of classic songs by artists such as Cole Porter, Sinatra and Ella, the jazz quartet/quintet combine versatile and dynamic musicianship with rich vocals affording you and your guests the opportunity to relax in the competent 'arms' of these acclaimed artists.
Such is their versatility, Jules can instantly become the perfect party band bringing together all the classic hits from the 70's to the present day. From The Weathergirls to Shania Twain, the dance floor will be packed. A great band to end the night with.
Julie's singing career began in 1991 as half of a guitar/vocal duo. She obtained her postgraduate diploma in jazz amd contemporary music in 1997 and since then has played to ever-increasing audiences with her band which includes Kevin. She has performed with her quintet at the Scarborough, Beverley and Cork festivals as well as jazz clubs throughout Hull, Huddersfield and Lincoln.
Kevin started playing the saxophone at the age of twenty and was accepted at the Royal Northern College of Music three years later. One of his first appointments was as first tenor with the Doncaster Youth jazz Orchestra. Since then he has worked with artists such as Shirley Bassey, Paul Anka and Barry White. Kevin also teaches jazz studies at his college in West Yorkshire and enjoys his current role of Director of music for several big bands in the north of England.
A typical performance comprises of 3 x 40 minute or 2 x 60 minute sets
