Such is Gwyns versatility, you can book him as a tribute to Louis Armstrong, a duo with guitar and percussion or with his usual 3 - 4 piece band comprising keyboards, bass, drums and trumpet. His repertoire extends far beyond just the great music of Louis Armstrong as it includes soul classics from Sam Cooke and James Brown to jazz standards, pop music and even some of his own successful recordings. He is an amazing performer, a real crowd pleaser and a natural entertainer. Sensational!!
Fans of singer-songwriter Gwyn believe he is entitled to much more than fifteen minutes of fame. The Jazz, R 'n' B, African, Latin and Gospel virtuoso has spent most of his life preparing for his moment in the spotlight. It was his deep, resonant vocal quality that brought him to the attention of the show "Sound of the Platter"s. He joined the tribute band, playing to sell-out venues across the USA, including Caesar's Palace and Carnegie Hall. Gwyn also starred as Cab Calloway in the long-running smash hit West End musical The Blues Brothers, singing, acting and dancing his way into the hearts of thousands of theatregoers.
Gwyn's vocals have graced tracks recorded by musical giants including soul diva Diana Ross, reggae heavyweight Maxi Priest, and dance icons Jamiroquai. Gwyn's musical collaborations have included working on songs with dance band Basement Jaxx.
A typical performance is for 2 x 60 or 3 x 40 minute sets with the band or up to 2 x 40 minute sets as a solo with backing tracks.
