| The Fox Hat are a six piece folk /
rock band - originally the brainchild of Geoff their guitarist. The band
have rapidly grown in status and following the success of their debut CD
"Live at the Century", are now in the process of recording their
second album. The Fox Hat are to be seen performing their own special brand of music at venues around the UK and are planning some European gigs for next Year.Since its formation some two years ago, The Fox Hat has gone from strength to strength. Playing thier own brand of Folk/Rock has brought the band great recognition amongst lovers of Folk & Celtic Rock with great acclaim from the press and media. The band will be appearing at several major festivals this year and are currently recording a new album scheduled for release in the Spring. The band's musicianship and entertaining performances are testament to their ongoing success. Unsurprisingly, they are enjoying considerable airplay on regional radio. The band's repertoire is diverse ranging from the sensitive ballads of Sandy Denny to their own fast and furious arrangements of Celtic jigs and reels. A great centrepiece for any party and a must to dance to! The Fox Hat’s standard line-up consists of guitar, mandolin, fiddle, bass guitar, drums, vocals and a caller is brought in for traditional ceilidhs and dances when required. Fox Hat prefer to dress for comfort when performing, although smart-casual attire is worn for weddings and more formal occasions.Haybales and wheatsheafs are not essential at a Fox Hat ceilidh but dancing, great entertainment and good old-fashioned fun are guaranteed!! A typical performance lasts for up to 2 hours. |
