Enjoying the life of the performer, various collaborations in both the jazz and classical fields have allowed Darren to perform extensively throughout the country, recent appearances have included the Edinburgh Festival and Birmingham Symphony Hall. Patricia King has performed widely both in this country and abroad. She took the starring role in the world premier of the musical Joan of Arc, which received excellent reviews in Stage and Television today. Patricia also sang on the first ever edition of Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast and has performed at various high profile functions including a dinner for Princess Anne. Darren and Patricia first met in 1990 when they both worked as teachers at a reputable music school. It was ten years later after a chance meeting at a charity event before they were to perform together in any professional capacity. Their collaboration proved so popular that they realised they had something unique and began playing more regularly at various jazz venues throughout the region. Although primarily a duo Darren and Patricia also expand the line-up to include bass and drums and have a regular band of up to 20 musicians with whom they perform.
Performances with DBK vary depending on the line up and requirements of your event. A typical performance will last for 2 x 60 minute sets. With the option of a anywhere between a duo and 20 piece big band available, DBK are ideal for performances for small intimate gatherings to show-stopping entertainment at large corporate events and balls.
